If you read my last article on this blog, Best Political Books, I mentioned one of the
political bumper stickers I have on the back of my car. It reads:
"LIBERALISM IS A CURABLE DISEASE." Actually, I have four political bumper stickers on my car. Another one states: "POLITICALLY INCORRECT AND PROUD OF IT." The remaining two political bumper stickers on my car don't actually count anymore. They are faded out, waiting for me to remove them, which is always a fun task, I jest. I think I'm going to limit it to two political bumper stickers from now on.
I know many people don't like to put bumper stickers on their cars, especially political bumper stickers. However, I believe, that if people would only start exposing themselves to our "out - of - control government", as pointed out in Glenn Beck's Common Sense and other best political books, maybe they would change their minds and see what impact displaying what they believe in, through the use of political bumper stickers might make.
I don't know how much impact I have made on people. Occasionally, I do get a response driving down the road, whether it be positive or negative, does not really matter. I've been given thumbs-up and once the middle finger, signifying that I'm number one. It really doesn't matter what the response is, because it tells me that one of my political bumper stickers has made an impact on people. So, using political bumper stickers on your car is just one form of speaking out, speaking your mind, letting the world know where you stand on certain things.
There are many places you can post your political bumper stickers other than your car. I have one posted on my garage that I made on my computer:
"BE CREATIVE, ANNOY A LIBERAL".
I also have several political bumper stickers on my refrigerator. The reason they're on the refrigerator is that they are magnetic and conveniently located so I can grab one, if I care to, to use on my car, depending on how I feel and where I'm going. Those are neat because they are magnetic. Three of them read:
"THROW THE BUMS OUT" "YOUR WALLET, The only place Democrats want
to drill" and "LEGALIZE THE CONSTITUTION."
Some people that know me, think I'm a republican, but that's not true. I am an American. I believe in freedom and liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Notice that one of my political bumper stickers states: "THROW THE BUMS OUT" - it does not refer to just the Democrats, it says "THE BUMS." As Glenn Beck writes in his
Common Sense:
"The time has come for a second American Revolution ------ bring your
passion, but leave your muskets at home. This revolution will take place in
our minds and hearts...This revolution will be won when Americans rebel
against the lies that are being told by those in power..."
Using political bumper stickers is but one way of joining the revolution. Using political bumper stickers you can make your own statement on what you believe without having to defend it, not much time for debate moving 30 - 70 mph down the road. Using political bumper stickers is cool!
Oh, I might add - I am not any kind of fanatic either. I'm just your everyday American,
that has decided it's time to speak out.
